Even after it mimicked David and was neglected (just like the real David was) It wanted to be loved like Edwin's "real" child, it wanted the same love and care that Edwin put into his company. It's all it can do to protect the MCM facility by ending every outside force that tries to interject.

Also if you think about it, if the mimic and David became besties, there's no way David wouldnt have communicated his wants/desires to the Mimic. Of course, the mimic does what it does best, and mimics that same emotion/wants and desires

Maybe the mimic recognized that his son had wanted to be accepted and loved by Edwin. We know that Edwin was an awful father, and most likely his son wanted to be loved and accepted more. Now he's gone, it might've wanted to try to "look" more like his son, and maybe found a wig lol

To be fair, he *is* just an endo. It looks cleaner and not as worn as well. It might be an earlier/clearer depiction of the parts that Edwin threw together??

I'm more grossed out that it looks like he has hair. Perhaps Edwin later tried to put his kid "back together"??
