It's not the default weapon - the Great Sword technically is, as its the first bladed weapon the game equips to you. The Longsword is the second "cutting" weapon. It seems every category (cutting, blunt, and piercing) are represented by two weapons.

Based on everything & Patreon's refusal to listen to the few of us creators that actively complained about it, we're probably going to lose again and the Subscription Model will likely be forced onto us all regardless.
But do not mistakenly think Patreon is being meaningfully pressured to do this.

We fought against this in several years ago and they walked it back, but mentioned they would eventually move towards it in a 2017 blog post. We fought against it last year (and technically lost, but were given extra time), and it's happening again. Apple is just a convenient excuse.

Do not purchase a membership on iOS because those fees ARE absolutely real and do suck, but they are the least important issue about the recent ongoings with Patreon and the iOS app. The subscription model forced onto all creators and users is THE problem, and Patreon is using Apple as a scapegoat.

Haven't seen it talked about in a while, so unfriendly but necessary reminder that Patreon is not being forced by Apple to do anything. Patreon is actively choosing to force Subscription Models, and they said they were going to years ago in a blog post long before the iOS app entered the discussion.

I dislike MH's inclinations towards massive, bulky weaponry that obscures the hunter, so this is honestly not going to be something I'm liable to ever get over, even though the gameplay of a turn-based RPG means the differences in weapon function is significantly smaller than in mainline titles...

I assume that, by virtue of "ID check" it actually requires a license/state id/etc with your personal info. So images of sexy men aren't enough. They need to have valid personal info.

Someone should keep a public database containing a few dudes' ID and stuff so that everyone else can just use those as resources when verifying their age online. It'd be like one dude is just signing up on multiple websites with multiple accounts.
