Talking about Africa, photography, and storytelling—with my framed canvas prints setting the scene behind me. Honoured to be invited by Lionstudiosframing to judge the local print exhibition. So much talent and heart from our local photographers. Moments like these remind me why we do what we do.
John Donnelly from Australia captured this sunrise using my golden hour tips—no spare battery, just instinct. The camera died right after, but it was worth it.

This photo captures a peaceful, long pier stretching out into calm waters under a dramatic sky. This is an excellent example of long-exposure photography, which beautifully blurs the movement of clouds and water to create a serene and timeless feel.

What place do you feel most grateful to call home? For me, it’s Port Stephens, Australia—a stunning corner of the world that constantly inspires my photography. This aerial panorama of Fingal Bay (a stitch of 3 images) was captured during a commercial shoot for the holiday park in the foreground.

Does water really look like liquid gold? Captured by Wayne Zussman, this stunning late summer sunset in Grasonville, Maryland, turns gentle waves into glowing lines of orange and gold. Nature’s artwork, right before our eyes! Nature’s art in motion!

After a full day of surfing at Crescent Head, we were lucky enough to catch this incredible sunset and calm reflections. Golden Hour never fails to remind me how beautiful life is.

When was the last time a sunset made you stop and breathe?

Happy to see your sunset shot in the comments. ☺️

Chasing golden hour meant soaked jeans 🌅
I saw the surf light up at sunset, grabbed my camera, and climbed the rocks with my dog Romie by my side. Tried shooting handheld no luck at 0.5 sec, so I ran back for the tripod. Worth it. 🙌☺️

I was strolling along the beach, totally lost in thought, when the sky suddenly burst into these incredible colours at sunset. I was so captivated by the scene that I just had to capture it. It felt like a moment too beautiful not to share.

Epic sunrise this morning - ventured in afterwards to surf the waves. The sky caught fire, and the sea answered back.
Started the day surfing under a masterpiece. 🧡

Great day everyone!

This shot came from cold air, tired legs, and an early start near Parakaunui Falls, New Zealand. The hike down in the dark was thrilling, but the peace that followed made every step worth it. Some moments ask us to slow down, wait, and simply witness.

Where did nature leave its mark on you?

Golden hour at the marina, where light becomes a compass, and silence turns romantic. This sunset felt like the pause the day didn’t know it needed.

If you’ve captured a sunset that stayed with you, feel free to share it in the comments and tell us what made it special.☺️

Stripped of colour, yet full of emotion. Monochrome reveals what we often overlook — mood, texture, and timeless power.

How does black-and-white photography make you feel?

Can you feel the calm in this scene? 🌅

Mungo Brush National Park never disappoints. The reflected colours in the sand and the line of the waves naturally guide your eyes to the glowing horizon and then up to the vibrant clouds.

Black & white photography isn’t about removing colour — it’s about revealing meaning.
Light. Shadow. Texture. Emotion.
When colour is stripped away, the story becomes louder.

What’s the coldest shoot you’ve ever done? ❄️
This one at Niagara Falls tops mine—freezing temps, but totally worth it for this icy view.
Tip: end the day with a warm drink while watching the falls glow at night.

Feel free to share your winter shots too! ☺️

This guy did—fearless, fluid, and fully committed. Absolute legend on the water!

Would you launch into a forward flip in 30-knot winds?

Snow angels with a twist ❄️

Captured from above using a drone to create a circular, almost spinning effect, with negative space adding balance and flow.

What do you think—does the rule of thirds work here?

Did you know bushfire smoke can paint sunsets like this?🔥
Shot this at Anna Bay just before the sun dipped—fiery skies made even more dramatic by smoke in the atmosphere.
While fires bring loss, they also leave a trace of beauty that reminds us of nature’s power.

The second reveals the storm’s full fury in colour, glowing with electric blues and purples across the sky.

Amazing sunset down the road last night
I was working in my studio when my daughter came running in, and said "daddy, look outside at the sunset!"
I peeked out the window, almost fell off my chair, scrambled around to find my camera body and rushed down to the beach.

Right as the sun began to dip at Myall Lakes, these wattlebirds put on a show — one mid-flight, the other mid-chat. The timing, the silhouette, the glow... it all came together in a single breathless moment.
