As someone who lived in Toronto during the glory days if the early 90s and watched "fans" leave during the 7th inning to beat traffic, I have to agree.

I know, but IIRC some scenes were replicated shot for shot, specifically the drunk Indian.

Ford also claimed he never saw the earlier film, but that was untrue.

Still, it is a better film and I have both the Criterion and the double disc with FRONTIER MARSHAL.
