"catch the Brewer Action on TV18" is seared into my brain alongside "Hello, Madison, Hello, Wisconsin. 15 loves you..."

The World Series precedents to cling to are 1985, 1986 and 1996. In all 3, the home team lost the first 2 games and came back to win the series.

The best correlation is 96. The Yankees scored 1 run on 11 hits in losing the first 2 to Maddux and Smoltz. They won the next 4.

This is the way.

I'm 54. I'm with you. All my life, I would tell myself, "they will definitely win one in my lifetime". Then I turned 50 and I realized that is far from a guarantee. But the window is wide open and I am loving the ride.

The Brewers are doing a lot of things right. They won 97 games this season, are competing for a pennant and the future is extremely bright. I loved this "summer of passion and excitement" and no matter what happens in LA, I can't wait for another one next year.

We can argue about baseball's financial structure until we're blue and gold in the face, but to say the Brewers had "no chance" in this series, is nonsense. They sure had a chance Monday night, and they really should have won that game. And they still have a chance to make this a series.

There are 4 teams still playing baseball on October 15th. The Brewers are one of them. Among the hundreds of ballplayers sitting home watching are Willy Adames, Corbin Burnes, Josh Hader, and Devin Williams. And let's not forget Craig Counsell.

Time for some perspective based on all the nonsense I'm seeing on social media. My uncle, who has battled cancer repeatedly helped me with this perspective. We watch baseball to be entertained. This was the most entertaining Brewers season of my life. World Series or bust is no way to live.

Wondering where Chicago fans might put this on their list of humiliating losses to Wisconsin teams. Compared to say, Game 162 or the 2010 NFC Championship Game. I think it's right on top.
