I wrote this today because the language coming from the administration in the wake of Alex Pretti's murder/execution is setting the legal and moral groundwork for using the Insurrection Act to turn federal force inward – and that’s a line we should be paying close attention to before it’s crossed.

Never mind. Abolishing ICE is the bare minimum now, sending these pigs to the Hague is the moderate position.
Just so we're clear:

Abolishing ICE is the moderate position.

Prosecuting everyone involved and having them rot in prison for the rest of their disgusting, miserable lives is the progressive one.

🧵 Notice the pattern in these statements: “terrorists,” “insurrection,” “organized protesters,” “local leaders refusing to help.” When the president, VP, AG, and the top advisor for domestic policy all use the same language, they’re building a legal narrative. (1/4)

Frame-by-frame analysis of the video has shown that a federal agent had taken a gun from the victim, and was walking away with it, when another agent fired at least five rounds at point-blank range, as the victim was lying prone on the sidewalk. It was an execution.
Minneapolis Police Chief O'Hara: "The video speaks for itself. We have identified this person - 37-year-old, white male, resident of the city. The only interaction that we are aware of with law enforcement has been for traffic tickets and we believe he is a lawfully gun owner with a permit to carry"

In light of masked, anonymous federal agents executing a subdued person on the street in Minneapolis today, it's even more important that you call your senators today and urge them to stop this funding for this rogue, lawless agency.

Here is where you can follow live on the scene reporting from the Minneapolis Star Tribune about the ICE execution this morning. These journalists are doing important work, and providing first rate, responsible reporting.

Minneapolis — WARNING: Disturbing video from this morning.
6-8 ICE agents have a person subdued. Multiple gunshots from an agent at point-blank range while the victim is on the ground. Americans need to see what masked federal forces are doing — and stop it. This government violence is ramping up.

If your aren’t opposing this, you are telling the world you OK with a violent, masked, paramilitary gang that has no intention of obeying the law.
While ICE is killing innocent people, teargassing babies and pastors, and kidnapping our neighbors to ship them off to foreign torture prisons, seven House Democrats just voted with the GOP to give the regime’s secret police even more funding.

Monster.
This video filmed by Ben Luhmann shows the moment a federal agent sprayed chemical irritants directly into a man's face in south Minneapolis.

Three agents already had the man pinned to the ground when a fourth agent walked up and sprayed the irritants.

Watching world leaders say the things they have been saying out loud the past few days, right as the Davos economic forum kicks off, feels like one of those moments that, in hindsight, ends up being the line between “before” and “after.”

Deutsche Bank’s George Saravelos points out what the pundits are missing: Europe holds Greenland and trillions in U.S. debt. That is real leverage. Europe brings serious economic power and expertise to the table — and I suspect that outweighs the Trump clown car’s level of financial literacy.

About a third of Insurrection Act invocations were to protect immigrants and racial minorities from white supremacist violence, including in Seattle. That history matters as Trump threatens to use it now. Read on. ⬇️

This is a pretty weak statement, @governorwalz.mn.gov.

Trump has violent gangs of thugs openly attacking and murdering Minnesotans. Trump is “fanning the flames of chaos” not the people of Minnesota. Be a leader . Milquetoast statements that put the onus on the people being attacked don’t cut it.

A lot of damage gets done by well-meaning people sharing things that don’t quite hold up. I put together a short, practical checklist for fact-checking before you hit “share.” It’s part of the Resistance Manual.
Don’t help bad information travel faster
Slow down. Check twice. Share less. Outrage is not a fact-check.
