#CommissionsOpen - In need of some stuff for a project or whatever? Want a crazy person who has too many thoughts to help you out? Want to pay me up front rather than way down the line like some people?

Take a good look. $300 bucks get you 1k Words + 3 character spot pieces + 1 map; no AI or shit.
A commission sheet listing all the things 300 bucks can get you - wowee.

Philadelphia has changed you man.

Yeah but how does that taste submerged in some gas station coffee?

Studying Darkest Dungeon 2 in the background has been nice.
MTG has become inscrutable though I think it could be of use to my purposes.

I do like how I can horizontal growth out with what I am doing. Should be a... weird twist on things.

But God, if it works? I could make OSR social dungeons.

A great doctor may know how to operate well on others but may be too proud to work on themselves well. A warrior broken by shame need not worry about their own limits, but the words of others cut too strong.

And you're all gonna die anyway. Because fuck you. Because I like tragic survival horror.

Started writing out the next thing. Really happy with treating attributes as proper limits which fluctuate and how they lean into a token based cultivation mechanic.

Just a matter of keeping it simple for flow. Which I think I can do, by treating the attributes as vs Self, vs Others, vs the World.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

Seeing shit like that Buddhist app makes me /way/ less self-conscious about how often my job is representing Desi peeps while being in an esoteric mountain doubt cult.

At least my issues are part of the point.

Trying to determine the nature of my feast or famine existence, the turpitude of seeking the feast to be prolonged for sake of standard portions - poetically speaking.

Also trying to figure out a better flow process for work.

Having thoughts about being an imperfect herald. I'm doing fine enough.

I have so many opinions on this and none of them are nice.

A good time was had.

Of course now I can absolutely not escape the remarks of my friends who mock me as being too knowledgeable/too thinky about capeshit.

Ain't like I own merch. I just like to think about things I read/watch.

Just worked for me real goddamn good. The high drama of people wanting to feel like things can actually get better when they have; versus last season's drowning in shame/guilt. Its the push-pull effect. Now that things might be better they sabotage because its easier to do than risk feeling worse.

Chris x Harcourt isn't about getting together, its about them being able to look at one another and saying they do deserve to be happy, they do deserve to feel loved, that they are feeling things and those things are real; and coming to accept they deserve to feel.

Friends working through it.

But like, it wasn't a cape show proper. It wasn't a continuation of old Arrowverse nonsense, or tragic weird concept episodes a la Doom Patrol.

I can absolutely get being bummed though. But the intervention worked for me. I also loved how it felt like, introspection vs love story stuff?
brianyaksha.bsky.social
I can see how people were disappointed given what Season 1 was; but this is a new cycle, new stuff, and this season was pitched as being a character piece about Chris Smith.

I think it did a good job. Even the Earth X ignorance is recontextualized by the motel intervention scene about his shit.

83% towards the base goal and still climbing. Thanks to everyone who backed us so far, help us reach our basegoal so we can start unlocking the stretch goals. The first one is a real banger, a d100 treasure table and RENDERER OF REALMS by @brianyaksha.bsky.social

Makes me excited for Waller, as conceptually seeing her interacting with Leota given the paradigm shift will be interest. Waller has experience but needs control, Leota has no experience but can make people be better. Its a good cause for struggle and the Doom Patrol guys are behind so hell yeah.

Also absolutely establishes how this universe works without feeling like that was the purpose. People live, capes are weirdos, good guys try to do the right thing even when its hard, bad guys do whatever they want because they don't care about other people, and people are just people.

That's nice.

Looking back at this season of Peacemaker and treating it like a season of a science fiction character study show (ie Dirk Gently, a better season of Fringe, or Future Man) makes it work really well for me.

I can get why folks might dislike it, but it works. Just not viewed as an action cape show.

Oh, Danny's back to being a street? Seems to be going through it though. That's no good.

I believe all that I am allowed to say is that I worked on an announced book.

Honestly, I've got some generators I've been putting into HTML output mechanisms. Could be fun to do a jam someday which use those as the baseline for building up something wild and tonally cohesive.
brianyaksha.bsky.social
Its one of my biggest issues with them.
Actually this just reminded me I did an IP-free version of Chaos God mutation ideations for Kriegsmesser and that's just been rotting in my drive for god knows how many years.

There is a kindness in seeing a culmination come to pass. The work is stronger for what all parties put upon it. Egos did not clash. We achieved the meeting of the minds, and that so seldom comes to pass.

I don't laud things easily or often. My choice to do so here is a mark of rare quality.
