Part #memoir, part fantasy, Tomorrows is a collection of poetry I wrote during a time when the mental illness was mental-illness-ing and it wouldn't be another 4 years before I was diagnosed as #autistic. 1/3
Two chapters into #Babel by @rfkuang.bsky.social. I'm keeping track of words I don't know the definition of, even the ones I only 'know' through context, and there's probably 20+ just in these two chapters. Love that @libbyapp.com has a 'Define' feature so you can look it up on the spot. #BookSky
My Libby hold on #Babel came through the same day I knew I was going to finish Fate Breaker. Amazing timing, Universe, thank you. #BookSky
Jumped into this one yesterday. I was going to read another book first, but I only have two @hoopladigital.bsky.social credits left for the month, so they're going to #BladeBreaker and #FateBreaker by Victoria Aveyard.

I'm really enjoying this series, as both a writer and a reader. #BookSky
I just read The Lost Bookshop in three days, which seems to be my average, though according to #TheStoryGraph, it's five days, lol.

This story took a dark turn around the 70% mark, which I was not expecting, but it paid off and made the ending that much sweeter. #BooksAboutBooks #BookSky
#TheMidnightLibrary is making me go through regular existential crises. The chapters are many and very short. I've easily read 100 pages a day (so I only have one more to go). This is a sadder book than I expected, but also hope peeks through the cracks between the chapters. #BookSky
Glassy eyes
State of fearsome
Desire
To end all ways
And live
As if immortal
Across the Great Plains
Soaring beyond
To the sea of youth
To watch
The Earth
Destroy itself

What You Are Looking For Is In The Library by Michiko Aoyama.

This is the first translated novel I've ever read. A wonderful read. Highly recommend. #BooksAboutBooks #BooksAboutLibraries
Someone at book club today said of history (the theme was historical fiction, and he couldn't remember where he'd first heard this quote):

"History doesn't necessarily repeat itself, but it does rhyme."

And a bunch of us were like, oh that's good, I'm writing that down. #quotes #BookSky
I started reading TIME'S special edition on #autism today through @libbyapp.com and while I'm always eager to learn, the language used between the medical community and the autistic community is so, so different. Medically, we are so behind on, not just research, but how we talk about autism.
Not bad considering I started at a 20+ week wait for Babel less than a month ago. Lol. I had a feeling itd be a long wait for R. F. Kuang's books. #Reading #Libby #BookSky
#CurrentlyReading: Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard. This book has been on my tbr since it released and I am not disappointed in the least. There are a lot of moving parts and names to remember, but it's not overwhelming. I'm still carried forward with the story. #BookSky
I don't know whether to scream or cry. Rebecca Kuang, respectfully, what the actual fuck!? This is why it took me THREE years to even consider reading the sequel to #ThePoppyWar. My heart is broken. I am filled with rage. If you can stomach it go read #TheDragonRepublic right now, lol. #BookSky
One organization I reached out to only helped autistics who were already on disability support find employment. Like, if I was already on disability, I wouldn't be so stressed about getting a job and probably wouldn't need this organization's services in the first place. #MakeItMakeSense
Same.
I don't really care if the future is short videos. I like words. Words have gotten me this far and I'm gonna stick with 'em for the duration
You are not producing #content to be consumed. You are creating #art to share with others.
I absolutely love seeing the guests on #WithLoveMeghan start out a little nervous, a little unsure, and then visibly get more and more comfortable as the episode progresses. #Wholesomeness
P.S. I started S2 of #WithLove,Meghan to counter the seriousness, and bring a little joy back into my evening, lol.
Rin is dealing with ptsd and so much loss after the events of book one, and now everyone (except the Cike) views her as an object, a weapon, something to be used. It is cruel on its own but made worse because Rin believes it. She's nothing if she can't be useful.
#BookSky R. F. Kuang sure knows how to punch a reader in the gut. I'm a third of the way through #TheDragonRepublic, and Kuang has put her main character, Rin, through so much. This sequel is the aftermath of a war and the beginnings of a second.
Tackling this monstrosity of a sequel after putting it off for ages. I've finally put enough distance between myself and when I read the first book (in 2022, lol). Wish me luck. #BookSky #CurrentlyReading

I tried so hard to finish Accomplice to the Villain today, but my eyes are so tired now, and I just can't do it, lol.

But, here are my final Beanstack stats for my library's #SummerReadingChallenge:

I made it through 8 of 10 books and read for 329 more minutes than last year. #BookSky
Two more days left of my library's Summer Reading Challenge, and I'm going to try to squeeze in one more book: Accomplice to the Villain by @hannahnicolemae.bsky.social. #BookSky
#CurrentlyReading A Captured Caludron by R. K. Ashwick, the sequel to A Rival Most Vial. I wanted to return to familiar characters for my next read, something lighter after Beautiful Beautiful and its seriousness, so I settled back into some cozy fantasy. #BookSky
