This image shows a 'diatom bloom' off the California coast, captured by Sentinel-3 on April 6.
A toxin producing species (Pseudo-nitzschia) makes this a harmful algal bloom, impacting marine life along the coast. Our partners at NOAA have been monitoring the event, read more here: bit.ly/3GWOaom
