Cross Bronx Expressway from @gmtgames.bsky.social was on the table for the first time at the club today. It was a group loss in the 1970s as the South Bronx collapsed into disenfranchisement. Many lessons learned and we’re looking to a replay soon.

Began the day with an 11am viewing of Lord of the Rings (1978) at Nitehawk Cinema - Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY. The last time I saw this animated classic in the theater was when my mom took nine-year-old me to see it some 47 years ago.

The club has long been an incubator of new ideas and games. Yesterday was a big first playtest of a new WWI game. Each unit is a corps, so each player controls two armies in the beginning and an army group by the end.
I did get out on a four-masted schooner out of Bar Harbor for a sunset sail.
Flew to Bangor and drove around from Camden to Bar Harbor and immediate areas.
On the 57th anniversary of start of the Chicago Democratic National Convention on August 26th, 1968 I revived one of my most highly anticipated games of the year — Chicago ‘68 from
Toni Goldstein and The Dietz Foundation.
Back from a week exploring some of coastal Maine, and snagged a great book focusing on the conflicts among British, French and Wabenaki nations along the 17th and 18th centuries frontier of what would become Maine.
