Crime is a legit problem in many places, but the perception that crime is increasing and out-of-control when it is not, is due to right wing propaganda. There are many success stories that get lost in the fear mongering. That's what Dems need to address.
All this discussion... I took a quick look at the route of the tracks and the grade crossings. It is insanity. You cannot do this and expect not to have fatalities. The fault is shared by Brightline and Florida for thinking that you can run high speed rail through such an environment.
I have written Aecom, the international engineering firm working on the project calling it a desecration and likely illegal. I have also written my reps in NY alerting them to the fact that Aecom does lots of business in the state. I want pressure on the contractors.
Laws are optional. Constitutional amendments are optional. The Supreme Court is compromised. The president is a rapist and murderer. Congress has abdicated its powers to the executive. We are barely hanging on as a democracy.
