First, Thanksgiving looks like this. Planning my day away. And hoping to overfeed everyone I can get my hands on!
It's actually quite tame this year. Blood tests early in the day so maybe that's a good reason to go slow 😊

Trump's daddy issues blow my mind. His oil policies, the nationalism, misunderstanding of science, admiration of dictator figures, pomp over purpose. His oddities seem rooted in dialing 1941 -ish times: an era his father might have been nostalgic for. I miss my dad too but forward is the other way!

Most Trek books ignore the tone and feel of the source. This grabs it. It's aggressive and intense immediately like Act III of an episode but I'm happy to recall the TOS chemistry and hear their voices in my imagination. Great peril. Very good art.

As pretty as wine vineyards. Remarkably charismatic villages built around vinegar production, Verona, Italy. It was odd and refreshing there. I avoided almost all the tourist spots and enjoyed myself greatly.
It inspired a near-Shadowrun story that still percolates :)
