hands down the most alienating experience I've yet had with training and I'm so glad that it's project-specific and not absolutely mandatory. I've been added to the exemption list, I won't have to endure it again, and I've been given a contact for feedback.

Environments where you objectively do not belong are a bit more complicated. The friendly sort are a lot harder to reckon with, the nakedly hostile ones are ironically a bit easier.

I don't think I'll ever feel like I truly belong anywhere. Good way to get empty platitudes – of course i belong! how could I ever think otherwise! – but I think the only approach you can really take is a more pragmatic one. You have to try to not care.

something I think people don't realise about autism is how totalising the loneliness can be. It's not just a feeling, it's so much more difficult to form deep connections, to know what to say or to do or to think. Sometimes it feels better, sometimes worse, but it never really goes away.

and then there were cabinets which had food in them, but it was a really weird mixture. we had a massive oversupply of tinned tomatoes in cans of every imaginable size but a lot of basic stuff was missing

had a weird dream recently, we were somewhere vaguely adjacent to the rail infrastructure and there was a bunch of weird island cabinets sorta like you might see in a kitchen but way too narrow. also all of the plug sockets were T key activated, which was me out of luck.
