My Fatality book series will never be made into a live-action movie because a lot of people wouldn't be okay with having a male actor playing a main character with she/her pronouns.

The one book of mine that isn't getting any attention lately is THIN; this high-brow, LGBT, Black Mirror thought-experiment with a satisfyingly-sweet HEA ending.

Don't let the cover fool you. It's a daring read. Try it. Read the sample. Info on my profile.

Plus side, is that while the writers Reddits are always really nosy and keeps checking why my books don't sell... they at least add to my KDP reads when they do it!

Thanks for the 2 cents! Your malice is my gain! Hahaha!

Why are we so much harder on indie authors over traditionally-published ones. Seriously, SJM has a book with a typo in the first paragraph...

I hate that Bluesky ignores anything not controversial. I'm over here showing off my beautiful books that I worked really hard on and literally no one ever sees it. System is rigged to create hate instead of produce joy. LOOK AT THEM!

I was wrong. That one star rating became an amazing 5 star book review!

Thank you, Trevor, for your kindness! The indie authors of this anthology all appreciate the praise.

My reading audience is not one who has shelves full of books with gilded and sprayed edges.

What is your reading audience, #writers ?

I'll break it down.

1. 1 book art per day per month. *Post artwork related to X book, include context and book info.

This got me throttled (post views dropped significantly on art posts but not on text-based ones during the month). Only Tumblr showed moderate increase in post views but no sales.
I was running a writer experiment for the last 4 months.
1. 1 book art per day for 1 month
2. Direct sales and radio silence for 1 month (control)
3. 1 month of exaggerated book success stories
4. 1 month of pity marketing

21 sales for $0

But hey, hopefully that means future readers.

Right?

My first review on Smashwords! Thank you for participating in my book sale and reading my Beautiful Dreamer novel.

5 Stars "Fun teenage romp in the multiverse. Couldn't put it down."

It's the last day of 2025, the sunlight is scant this far up in the Canadian north, but at least it is dry. My roses need a trim.

I trimmed my roses. On December 31st. And then I laugh at the rest of Canada because they're buried under 3 metres of snow.

I am in Vancouver.

Last day of the year, and these are this month's book totals.

(You can make it extra extra better because Beautiful Dreamer novel is still $0 on Smashwords.)

Another day dawns. Another day of grifting as hard as I can grift for one person to look at my books.

BTW, my books are on my profile. Please look at them.

December is almost over, and I moved a total of 30 books so far (mostly Beautiful Dreamer, which is still free on Smashwords.)

That is about a book a day. A BOOK A DAY.

Pinch me.

Every author online ever: Notice me! Read my books! Notice me! Notice me! Notice me!

Every author in person: Ack! Don't look at me! *Hides behind book*

As an indie author I hate leaving poor reviews on the work of other indie authors. And every time I do, I feel like a monster.

For Stuff Your Kindle Day, get off of Amazon and try Smashwords.

Tons of free books right now, you get to support indies like me, and you get to stick it to the Lex Luther wannabe.

Getting book reviews is harder than book sales. It's really interesting.

Here I was thinking 10 in a week was a lofty goal. I should have kept it realistic and said just 1.
