For history lovers - super interesting article about one Quebec man’s fight and eventual win against an American monopoly on maple syrup. Tariffs, hubris, questionable methods on the American side, it has it all!

Just saw it noted that 100% of the world’s Ozempic supply comes from Denmark, as does a somewhat smaller percentage of the world’s insulin. Almost as if it’s really quite a small world!

I knew this was likely considering PM Carney met with battery and industry leaders and he brought Minister Joly to China.
When she goes that means they are looking for manufacturing in Canada.

Legault and the CAQ do not represent the average Quebecer. They won a majority in 2022 due to lingering trauma from the pandemic and the quality of the other parties. Their current approval rate of 10% is indicative of their abysmal performance.
2 in 3 Quebecers acknowledge the existence of systemic racism — Why can’t François Legault?

While Legault had a longstanding history of denying that systemic racism exists, it’s worth noting that Quebecers are the most likely to acknowledge this fact.

The trouble with USians is that they have a profound and almost universal inability to comprehend that people from other countries don’t regard them in the same rosy, self-aggrandizing manner they look at themselves and their “brilliant” ideas.

I'm grateful to be a Canadian. I'm proud of the advances our Prime Minister is making, and the subtle severing with the U.S. is necessary; especially with a lunatic running (and ruining) their country. It's not a schadenfreude response; it's just the damn facts.

Nancy McClure of “Nancy Unfiltered a Canadian Perspective” posted today about PM Mark Carney’s pragmatic realist leadership. A perfect description of a man who said “We take the world as it is, not as we wish it to be”. A steady leader, doing the job and making new allies and partnerships. ♥️🇨🇦

The psychological obstacle to leaving is no longer just sunk cost.

People do not want to admit they already crossed what should have been a red line. More than once.

Nobody wants to confront their own moral flexibility.

Stop with the analysis. It's irrelevant

Um, they’re only letting in 49,000 per year for now. The industry leaders are being intentionally misleading/hysterical. US cars are becoming a thing of the past for Canadians other than pickup drivers.

Canada is turning away from the US, and Mexico may be next. The US still does not grasp that as Europe and China expand trade and influence with its key partners, a timer toward economic irrelevance is set. The consequence will be higher prices at the US dinner table and a food supply kill switch.
