Thunderbolts

Interesting non-Avengers. Comedy character didn't work for me, some scenes brought the whole film to a screaming stop.

Some greats scenes though and the memories were awesome, but the first battle against the big bad was flat and looked awful.

Saved by Pugh

Wake Up Dead Man (Knives Out)

Much better than the 2nd one. But not a patch on the 1st

Missed what makes the 1st work so well. Like Columbo it's the knowing but can't prove it, & everything turning on one fact and then all fitting together. Which the last two films don't have.

Fantastic 4

The film was likeable, but feel flat on the humour. The jokes just didn't land.

Also the there is no chemistry amongst the main characters. It felt all very cold

That is ignoring several key plot holes. Which should have been addressed to make it more rebust.

Kraven the Hunter

WTF?

So much obvious CGI that pulls you out of the film, changes in character actions so utterly unbelievable.

Some Fights scenes were pointless, & just left me laughing.

Needing ripping up and completely rewriting. Sony can't deliver a decent super hero film

Back in Action

Good fight scenes, but film felt generally flat overall. A couple of characters are highly annoying.

Nice idea, but needed to go back to the drawing board. Was trying to be an action comedy, but script not good enough - need wit and clever dialogue.

Weapons

Another original horror/thriller from the maker of Barbarian. Utterly loved this film and really didn't know where it was going.

Small cast and once the main time line played out the rest ticks along at a decent speed.

Loved the light relief at the end

Superman

More scout than perfect person. Love the human side. Just trying their best.

Not a perfect film, but goes quick enough to enjoy and the joy helps cover the odd plot holes.

Really enjoyed Krypto and his energy.

Though something lacked making it perfect

Sinners

Felt as though 40mins could have been cut easily. Some plots dropped others explained more.

Felt From Dawn Till Dusk did it better. Was stylish and well done all except one major point ('the door') but get it for the plot to move on.

Don't get the hype over it.

Got spammed by a fake @americanairlines.bsky.social American Airline customer help line over our travel nightmare last weekend. Stopped it in time

Had several people reach out pretending to be customer services. Who to trust these days? Any refund for appalling service, just post the cheque.

... First 24 hours for us has been eventful.

flight was 2hr delayed from London, business class was awesome, great food and seats.

whilst in the air we heard our connecting flight was cancelled, 'the team' would be working on replacement tickets which would be waiting for us when we landed.

Final Destination: Bloodlines

Nice add. to the rules, really enjoyed this film.

Did have a couple of issues about one element, but not enough to spoil the film.

Characters are believable, so felt invested in them.

A farewell bid to Tony Todd (a missed chance for..?)

MI: The Final Reckoning

Utter chaos and bollocks. But with utterly amazing stuns.

Will watch 4-7 any time they're on TV. Wouldn't go out my way to rewatch this one. Ends the franchise though.

Too much a homage to itself, plot holes buses can fit through. Needed better plot

Havoc

Go back to the drawing board for a complete rewrite.

A main girl is kick ass, but forgets that later on. Too much shakey cam for my liking, plus a plot that someone threw up after a bad night drinking thinking it was amazing.

Just rewatch his other films (e.g
The Raid)

G20

Bar was set low - better than expected. Appalling British portrayal

Though still very predictable, action and camera work was great. Characters OK

Just lost it in the last 10 minutes and became 'unbelievable'

Better than a lot of Netflix/Amazon Originals

Triangle of Sadness

Could have easily cut 45-60 mins from this film.

Had some funny parts and interest role reversal elements.

But on the whole due to its length, I was utterly bored by it

Juror #2

Highly annoying - key elements of the story are done off screen, too simplistic and annoying.

If you want a proper jury drama than watch 12 Angry Men. Which is an amazing film and would happily watch time and again.

But not this rubbish

The Substance

OMG - Demi & Margaret are amazing in this film. Don't watch this if you want something nice and gentle.

This is a reflection of how men see women and the lengths someone would go to keep relevant.

Lost me a bit in the last 10 mins, went a bit too far, but I get it

The Wild Robot

Utterly loved this film and really grew to love all the characters and believed in them. Lost itself a tad at the end, else it would be a 5.

A few story issues if you think about them - don't

I would love to have a Robot like this, same director as HTTYDragon.

Cuckoo

Nice little thriller, modern day but feels like the 80's

Confused my the motive of some characters, though script was good on the whole and kept me hooked. Loses it a bit in the 3rd act.

Worth watching, but not for the collection

Alien: Romulus

Don't get the hate for it, generally keeps to the lore of Alien. Have always loved the look / feel of the original films and this adds to it.

Refs to the original are nods rather blaring neon lights.

A few small plot holes, though really enjoyed it.

Greedy People

Multiple views combining into one story.

Wants to be more than it actually is. Dialogue that thinks it is clever but is just rambling.

No-one to route for, so have no vested interest in any one.

Done better by other people

Thelma

Utterly loved this little film, dramatic music over someone trying to find the X to close a computer window.

Thelma is everyone's Nan and we all love her. Characters and script were very good and so much out of a simple idea

The Witches (2020)

Not a patch on the original film, really disliked the changes to the plot. The original was closer to the book.

Found the changes annoying and unnecessary.

Bettlejuice Bettlejuice

36 years since the original - they should have waiting another 36 years. This was total utter trash. Nothing about it saves it.

DO NOT WATCH if you love the original

Aftermath

Plots holes as huge as buses, dialogue that brings the film to a halt, stupid actions by characters or supporting characters

Basically all the issues you get with bad films. For me Dylan was the only thing to just save it.
