Wunder is gonna be playable at EGX Rezzed in Birmingham this weekend, in the Game Republic Zone! If you're going come and check it out!

There's no trailer yet but we did get a Steam page up. If a coin based, double-sided deckbuilder sounds interesting to you, wishlisting could be cool!

I'm gonna say it, I don't think AI has a place in prototyping, mood boards, pre-production, etc... It feels weird how much I keep seeing people say it

I'm not gonna sit there and remake what I told a robot to slop so it feels like mine 😂

Stop using AI for placeholder assets.
Use sketches. Use lorem ipsum. Use bright pink materials. Use programmer art for fucks sake, literally anything else.
If your studio is using AI even for temp, even if they think they've covered their tracks, SPEAK UP because people WILL FIND IT

After one year of development the first milestone is done actually 😭 Holy shiiit. So for full context on how crazy this is, I have a long history of starting projects and running out of steam so the 1 yr milestone is..mad. I also did not know javascript and three.js was new to me 🫡

Columbo makes me feel so smart, with murder mysteries I always try to guess who did it before the big reveal and I'm usually wrong but with columbo I'm 6/6 atm and only getting more confident

Only a few nights of work but I already got a menu, overworld, normal level with interactions and a battle manager started!

Godot is v solid, v fun

got to the point where I was spending every day in my little office working on Wunder, not super healthy 😅

Demoing Wunder at GaMaYo last night went reallyyyy well!! Almost everyone who played it wanted to be in the beta 😭

I've got 2 weeks to polish and add more to the demo before locking in for the open playtest in Jan, currently on track for next fest in Feb and release in Mar/Apr

A big reason proc gen feels so different to AI in spite of superficial similarities is exactly this!!

Proc Gen systems reflect the interests and creative preferences of the tool makers, whereas AI is catch-all sludge that reflects no specific point of view. It’s not remotely the same!
In case anyone ever asks, I *have* written a material generator and a music generator for Eldritch 2, but that's not AI. That's me taking all the things I personally know about those things, and writing my own tools to make the process a little faster and easier for myself. It's still 100% me, baby.

ngl, if this is the case then it's likely important to assume I won't be buying games from companies that have CEOs :/ (which is like, all of them right 😅)

I do wish there was a way around how much I lose any desire to play a game with genAI use involved but I just don't see it.

I love this! I really wanna embrace making small games centred around interesting ideas to get better at design

hopefully I'll have Wunder out in Mar / Apr and I can make an actual small game for once 😅
