October Day 6 Prompt: Glow

It's... almost cruel. Cruel how the beauty of the forest is. It's shrouded boughs wrapping around you in a strangled embrace. I know there are elementals and spirits and what not here but I've never seen them aside from the spare sprite sauntering slowly through the country side.

But it's beauty is less seen in the light of day; the light of its glowing beauty is birthed in the evening sun. The Lampyridae rise and fall like stars in the sky. At times their glow is so bright that you need not a torch to guide your way. I know the snow's not suited for many of them but when I was little I thought they were ghostly orbs in the sky. I know now that they were just a reflection from the snow...[writing trails off a few more pages with a discussion on fireflies in different regions].

I've been terrorizing @bumblebread.bsky.social every day with this.

It's not long now until #SecretWorldLegends' Samhain, after all!

A grotesque gourd shaped into the form of a man with multiple pumpkins fused and contorted into its head and body while the vines and roots form the limbs. This is Jack of the Lantern from the game "Secret World Legends", and he stands looming in front of an enormous weeping leafless tree with winding branches from which lanterns hang. It is dark in this part of the Hollow Earth. Pumpkins sprout by Jack's feet atop in the Forgotten Pumpkin Patch. In the background, graceful branches extend from great tree trunks of a completely different tree, the height of which is so immense that it breaches past view in stark contrast to the Forgotten Pumpkin Patch's cursed tree. Agartha awaits.
