I think of Amber being able to heal is like the resin just gluing the shards somewhat back together. So it's not perfect, but acts as like a makeshift gem piece. Maybe in a way like prosthetics, or like if people have mechanical stuff in their body to help them live.

I did! (Just a conceptof a story)

Citrine was tasked to protect Amber while Amber was working on earth. When a fight broke out Citrine was chipped and almost shattered till Amber stepped in. Amber was able to slightly heal Citrine's crack. And they have been together ever since.

I think I got inspired to draw this when I was showing my little sister Steven Universe for the first time.
