I always love talking about how we can make the "Music Industry" better, and it feels like these discussions get increasingly important every year. It's fun to imagine the best future we can, so we should at least try, right?

1. what's left of a completely tattered corporate mainstream music media industry is putting down the RTO ultimatum and don't have any real reporting on the big Midwestern cities' scenes, including MPLS, Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis, KC, etc

I feel like the Minneapolis/St. Paul music scene is one of the most supportive music scenes around, and at the same time it’s one of the most difficult to get recognition within by people doing tons of work and receiving recognition elsewhere.
What do you think? Am I too inside my own lens? Are the gatekeepers just super picky or too locked into how things were in the 80s/90s? Is there not enough actual industry infrastructure?
