A wonderful read, each chapter is a selfish contained story that dribbles into the others. I enjoyed the imagery and hope it exudes

Just finished pretties by Scott westerfield.
I know we're often supposed to view the characters as vapid and ignorant, but part of me can't help but wonder if it truly does a good job of showing the reader how to think in newer ways, or just reinforces the stereotypes.

Just finished, it's a cute read, sometimes the Japanese language parts were hard to understand with the audiobook reader's accent, but overall a heartwarming comfort book.

Couldn't sleep while I had more to read and it was worth the sacrificed hours. The juxtaposition of the descriptions of a lush forest and a polluted hyper consumerist society. Striking and beautiful message about motherhood, privacy, poverty

A family in my neighborhood lost a child to polio. There were kids in my school in every grade with leg braces or crutches due to polio. In junior high, most of the kids in adaptive physical education were there because of polio. Many kids in elementary school had terrible skin scars from measles.
Re: the ongoing measles outbreak. If you’re old enough to have experienced the longterm, devastating consequences of infectious diseases prior to widespread vaccination campaigns in the 1950s-60s, please TELL YOUR STORIES. On social media, in letters to the editor, on the radio., etc. #NotForgotten
I can attest for the loss of sight. I got measles prior to vaccines. After spending a month isolated in a darken room, I came out with vision so bad I couldn't see more than a foot in front of me. That is a lifelong consequence. People need with wake up and get their kids vaccinated.

So technically, yeah.
