I'm putting together my final radio show. It's going to be all vinyl from my collection, and only songs that I played on my first run on college radio (1982-86). Even though I sold off much of my collection in the 90s, I still have enough left for several shows; paring it down to 2 hours is hard 🙁

Pluribus: it's good, but I just watched ep. 2 and was frustrated that no one can point out that a system that kills that many people initially, and that many due to a glitch, is perhaps Not Good.

This new Kennebec album is quite nice, with the customary new age/folk music augmented with liberal doses of hip hop vocals. For me the highlight is track 2, Neakahnie (feat. Miguel Atwood Ferguson & Yazz Ahmed), which seems plucked from David Sylvian's soundworld circa Secrets of the Beehive

At my parents' house tonight; they have MSN on so I've heard someone say "Donald Trump" about 200 times in the last half hour 😵‍💫

I just discovered Tom Cox last week but he's already enriched my vicarious experience of a particular kind of British life (the kind that prioritizes walking, wildlife, folklore, bees, ghosts, etc.)
I'm giving away two signed copies of my (recently republished) book 21st-Century Yokel, with two postcards of this fab otters linocut by my mum, Jo.

Just repost this & pop a comment below to enter.

After spending last year playing The Talos Principle 2 and this year playing Balatro, I've returned to my previous favorite game, Dorfromantik. The easy pace and beautiful music make it really relaxing. It was my Saturday night routine for a couple years; it's a great reset from the work week.

Having a melancholy night putting my penultimate radio show together. I usually do a "leftovers" show on the last week of the year, tracks that were on my shortlist but didn't quite make it on. So that's tomorrow's show, then I have a week off, and back for a final show on Dec 1.

What movie villain is a horrible person, but an absolute joy to watch on screen? Linus Roache was fantastic in Mandy.
