I love how learning Japanese is also making me learn English deeper than I had yet learned it.
And while Finnish is my mother tongue, learning Japanese with English as the learning language just feels more right, especially since the resources are in English.

In order to not feel stressed, I feel like I always need something my nervous system can fully immerse in:
a partner
a fictional world
a story
a fictional character
or something I create myself.
But the key thing is that it should carry emotional salience. That's my life blood.

What makes kanji hard isn't Japanese phonemes, they're a visual bottleneck. It's easy to skim past complicated-looking blobs of scribbles, but RTK makes it easy to *not* skim past them. Kanji will be as familiar to you as your family and closest friends.
