US Congresswoman. Engineer. Proud mom of four. Devoted sports fan. Fighter for Oregon #OR05
Today, we honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King.

I’ll share with you one of my favorite Dr. King quotes: “We will have to repent in this generation, not only for the evil words and deeds of the bad people, but for the appalling silence of the good people.”

Improving water infrastructure unlocks more housing, more jobs, and a stronger economy.

That’s why I fought for 6 MILLION in funding for CD5 that will improve our water infrastructure and increase access to clean drinking water for my constituents.

It’s clear this President cares more about being a dictator than helping the American people.

Congratulations to Anshu and his app, Grub.io, for winning CD5's Congressional App Challenge!

Grub.io stood out for its unique approach to addressing food insecurity in Oregon and across the country.

President Trump announced today that he'll stop all federal funding to Oregon on February 1st.

That's illegal, cruel, and un-American.
January 14, 2026 at 1:46 AM
Donald Trump is attacking the independence of the Federal Reserve, by threatening criminal investigations into Jerome Powell.

I can’t – and won’t – standby and let that happen. I’ll continue fighting to make sure the Fed works for Oregonians, not President Trump.

$6 MILLION in funding for CD5 that I fought for passed the House!

This money will help Oregonians increase access to clean drinking water from Molalla, to Bend, to Halsey, to Oregon City.

Now, it's headed to the Senate – stay tuned for updates!

During the Flat Fire, recreational drones interfered with firefighter response times, putting our communities at unnecessary risk.

My new bill, the Wildfire Aerial Response Safety Act will make sure that things like this don’t happen next wildfire season.

Speaker Johnson and Republicans are staring down a January 30th deadline to fund the government.

Our country can’t afford for us to be ineffective – I’m ready to get to work with anyone to get these budget bills across the finish line.

Headed back for to DC for another busy week – I’m fired up and ready to fight for Oregonians.

One thing is clear – this administration has a slippery relationship with the truth.

The White House is targeting me for calling them out on their BS. They added me to a list of “Democrats Declaring War on Law Enforcement” and lied about what I said.

I will not be intimidated and I will never stop demanding the truth.

I’m heading back to Portland today to demand a full investigation into the shooting last night.

We need answers and we need accountability.

Here in Portland, we’ve already showed the President how ridiculous his policies are.

I don’t mess around when it comes to healthcare.

I just voted to extend the #ACA subsidies, because we don’t need higher prices, and because no one should have to go without care.

It passed the House, and now, it goes to the Senate – let’s get it done.

As a member of @ushousefsc.bsky.social, I’m fighting back against this administration’s attempts to gut consumer protections – and we’re winning.

The CFPB works to keep your hard earned money in your pocket where it belongs. Keeping it funded is essential.
Ranking Member @repmaxinewaters.bsky.social' statement after a federal court ordered the Trump Administration to continue funding the #CFPB while litigation proceeds, rejecting their latest arguments used to justify efforts to defund and abandon the agency.
