US Congresswoman. Engineer. Proud mom of four. Devoted sports fan. Fighter for Oregon #OR05
Wishing you and your loved ones a happy Thanksgiving filled with good company, quality time with loved ones, and delicious food 🦃🍂🧡

I remain thankful for the opportunity to serve as your representative, and I will continue to fight to make life better for all Oregonians.

My prayers are with the loved ones of the two members of the National Guard who were shot outside of the White House this afternoon.

This type of violence has no place in our communities.

The Trump Administration is withholding funding for housing assistance programs, which could cause 170,000 Americans to lose their homes this winter.

That’s unacceptable. I’m demanding it be fixed & that hundreds of thousands of families aren’t needlessly evicted.

Trump administration policy change makes deep cuts to homeless permanent housing program
More than half of the 2026 funding for the program will be shifted from permanent housing to transitional housing with work and service requirements.

When I was shopping for Thanksgiving, I was shocked by the prices I was seeing.

Trump’s chaotic economic policies are driving up costs for Oregonians and adding unnecessary stress to the holiday season.

My North Star is America’s children.

We need to be doing everything we can to fund education, make sure they have access to healthcare, food, and a roof over their head, and work together to set them up for success.

Every Thanksgiving, I design a new tablescape for my family to enjoy – it’s my favorite holiday!

I know costs are rising, so I wanted to offer some tips on how to make your own tablescape this holiday season without breaking the bank.

If Speaker Johnson refuses to hold a vote to protect tax credits in the #AffordableCareAct before the end of the year, over 20,000 Oregonians in CD5 will see their healthcare costs rise.

Costs are high enough already. I joined my colleagues in demanding he hold a vote.

Last week, I had the chance to speak with Black state legislators from across the country about the key issues they are facing back home.

Our work as Members of the Congressional Black Caucus in DC goes hand-in-hand with their work on the ground. Together, we can make change happen.

The full review process for restoration projects in floodplain areas can take years and cost communities tens of thousands of dollars.

My new bill, the Floodplain Enhancement and Recovery Act, would speed up the process for projects that pose minimal flood risk.

Every chance they have, Republicans are taking action to make healthcare less affordable, and I’ve had enough.

Healthcare is expensive enough as it is – Oregonians don’t need DC politicians raising their costs even more.

I voted 'Present' on Republicans' House Resolution supposedly condemning Socialism. I've had enough of the nonsense.

As a member of @ushousefsc.bsky.social, lowering the cost of housing is a top priority for me.

My new bill, the Appraisal Industry Improvement Act, will expand access to training programs for home appraisers and bring down the cost of homeownership for Oregonians.

We’ve had an incredible class of interns with us this fall in DC. They’ve led legislative research, supported constituents on the phone, and kept our office running!

Republicans are playing games with programs Americans rely on, and it's taking a toll. I’m proud of how Oregon has protected access to SNAP for those who use it to put food on the table.

This is about feeding our families, children, & seniors – the games need to stop.

Budget fights and the federal shutdown have stressed Oregon’s SNAP program
Oregon is one of the highest users of SNAP in the country. Now that funding has been restored, we get a program check-in with Mark Edwards at OSU.

Across the country, we’re seeing a shortage of trained workers in housing markets – especially in rural communities – that’s driving up costs for homebuyers.

I’m introducing a bipartisan bill, the Appraisal Industry Improvement Act, to address this shortage and make it easier to buy a home.

The Public Lands Rule provides us with modern, science-based tools to protect, restore, and preserve our environment.

The Trump administration is trying to get rid of it.

I’m joining my colleagues to demand the rule stay in place.

The President promised to lower costs on “day one,” yet a new report revealed that Oregonians have spent nearly $900 more this year compared to last year.

Make it make sense…

I just voted to release the Epstein files.

The American people deserve transparency, and the survivors deserve justice.

Paychecks aren't keeping up with prices.

I'll continue to fight in Congress to lower costs and make life easier for Oregonians. We can't afford Trump's chaotic economic policies.

One of my favorite parts of being your representative is meeting people from all across CD5. Come in and visit us, and leave a pin on our map!

Last week, a petition to release the Epstein files received the number of signatures required to force a vote on the House Floor – that vote is on the docket this week.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant – they need to release the files.

Tax credits in the #AffordableCareAct help tens of thousands of Oregonians afford healthcare, including my constituent David.

If we don’t extend them by the end of the year, David will see his costs go up hundreds of dollars. I won’t leave Oregonians behind – the fight is far from over.
