Nice to see a positive counterpoint to the spineless behavior of the largest tech companies.
TLDR; The PSF has made the decision to put our community and our shared diversity, equity, and inclusion values ahead of seeking $1.5M in new revenue. Please read and share. pyfound.blogspot.com/2025/10/NSF-...

ICE violence was the impetus to modernize my video aggregation site that I've been running for 16 years, now with over 1 million videos in the database. I'd like to add lots more features, but it's a start: progressvideo.tv

Stop me if I’m overdramatizing, but I’m beginning to wonder if algorithm-driven public chat may have a downside.

I have friends who are/were in 18f & USDS. “The one person” is burning every single institution down to claim it all. It’s tragic, and unfortunately nobody knows the depths unless they’re on Bluesky and subjects themselves to the daily horrors.
The one person in our world who needs to hear this will never read it, but you can. And you should. Every word!

America, brought to you by: Truth steaks with extra microplastics, fake information with extra cruelty, botched lip filler injections, bigoted children’s programming, DEI for failed white guys, and concentration camps with that vintage formulation that your racist granddaddy loved.

I was looking at the official TSA info about opting out of the facial scan at airports (you can easily opt out with no trouble), and noticed a Truth social icon in the footer. These mfrs are running scams at every possible level.

Incredible 🙌 I’ll poke around. As a longtime Flash (and prev. Director/Shockwave) developer, but now very into web standards (I love Web Components) and future-proofing, your posts here resonate 🙏 My own website is driven by now-enormous xml/rss files that I started 20+ years ago

Used Claude Code/Gemini to help me make a CEF browser->Spout2 simple app for Windows that ill release soon. Going to do the same for Syphon on MacOS because why not. There were old implementations of this, but most were abandoned. Let me know if this sounds useful!

What I'm listening to today: "Main Menu", Kazumi Totaka

From "Mario Artist: Communication Kit", a piece of pure utility software for operating the Japan-only N64 modem. Maybe Totaka's most experimental work ever; it's mostly minimal ambient. One floaty techno track:

I’ve been coding professionally for 25 years and sometimes feel like I know nothing 😅 But I still love learning how to use new puzzle pieces!

Onnx models seem to be the most portable format across languages/frameworks. There’s an onnx SDK for lots of languages. I will admit that understanding the input/output format took a lot of time to understand, and I used some coding assistance to get there! I certainly spent days learning and trying

I've been working towards implementing a number of onnx computer vision models directly in TouchDesigner. It's wild how much python I'm writing these days.
This is DepthAnythingV2 running at 60fps with a 256x256 input. ~10ms inference time on a laptop 4090 🤯
