The hardest part of getting what I want is giving up what's in the way.

Curious if authors consciously decide plot points, who wins, who ends up together, who dies, if they allow it to organically happen in spite of what they want to happen, or a little bit of both.

Need a good romcom recommendation. Watched You've Got Mail for the thousandth time, but I need something new-to-me.

The outlook on landing an entry level web developer job has never been more bleak with the rise of AI making it all but obsolete. I'm starting to feel it would be best to go back to just letting this thing be a hobby for my own sanity. And that's hard to come to terms with.

With January 2026 behind us, goals were met and some fell short. I'm speaking to myself, but wanted to share: it's better to accomplish your goals late than to wait another year for another arbitrary fresh start.

Keep going 💪

Unproductive and lazy weekend sulking, but I successfully made a balsamic glaze to put on dishes I haven't bought the ingredients for, so that's something. 🫠

I've spent the last month playing my guitar again, writing a new song, and I can't express enough the importance of doing something creative for the analytical types. It may not come natural, but it's important that you do it.

If you're picking up a book because of discourse around it, I sincerely hope and enourage you to read it in good faith. Actually try to engage with it.

Just about done with a quick landing page for my portfolio. The one important thing I'm unsure about is if I need to launch projects or if a GitHub link is sufficient. I wouldn't be surprised if recruiters don't download large GitHub folders to view the work for security reasons.

Motivated, but creatively stuck this weekend. I hope the latter passes.

Really hoping I manage more books in 2026. Loved the ones I read in 2025, I know I'm missing out.

I finally finished reading The Picture of Dorian Gray. I love the modern depictions of Dorian so much, from A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen to the 2009 film with Ben Barnes, surely the original work will be right up my alley.

I underestimated Oscar Wilde's ability to poorly tell a story.

Finding enjoyment in so many facets of life, I've become a bit of a hobbyist. In this life of music, web development, and many more pursuits, I've learned time is the most precious thing we have.

I'm going to make it through The Picture of Dorian Gray before 2026, but good grief Oscar. You really didn't need to ramble for 6 straight pages to make your point. We get it, he's enamored of pretty and expensive things. #BookSky

I've been developing a website to help students study the periodic table through memorization, multiple-choice, and trivia games. The core randomization and generating new elements has been completed, now to grind out the CSS and format the different modes. 💪

We really need to appreciate the consistency in syntax between languages. Speed running this Python tutorial is refreshing.

I've had an idea for a great game story I've been mulling over since 2012. I would love to learn the coding side of game development, but I'm not sure where to start.

I'm trying to weigh the value of AI capabilities and the cost to have it. I'm leaning towards hoping it fades out like NFTs.

Starting anything new with a desire to immediately excel is among the most frustrating human experiences

I took a short vacation to Tulsa, OK this week and had an absolute blast! Yung Gravy's show was so much fun and the people of Tulsa were beyond welcoming!
