We saw Michelangelo - A Different View exhibition today. My 12-year-old asked two very good questions. 🤔 #art
1. Why are all the people in the paintings white when there are brown people everywhere?
2. How come the birth of Eve doesn’t get as much attention as the birth of Adam?

One year since we settled and got the keys to home. One year since we started cleaning, scrubbing, cutting back and fixing things in the house and garden while moving in. It's sometimes overwhelming how much we still have to do (once I can afford renos), but we are very happy to be here. 🏡

My garlic harvest is disappointing this year. There's more space in this garden but the soil isn't as good as at our old home. A few decent bulbs, though. 🧄 🌱🇳🇿

Pretty poor form that MMH haven't informed my GP practice whether any of their/our/my data has been impacted. Even spicier is finally receiving a group message requiring me to log in to MMH to find out they know nothing. 😔

Many years ago, I ‘shopped’ from my freezer and discovered I had enough frozen meat to feed us until late January. I’m better organised now (see: moving house in Jan 205) but found some surprise pumpkin soup that made a delicious holiday lunch. 🥣

This time last year we were packing to move house. It’s been year of zero income followed by austerity, so this summer’s decluttering is pleasantly minimal, offset by the huge list of DIY repairs that come with a reno. Prioritising tasks we can complete with zero or minimal budget. #WeBoughtAReno. 🏡
