He was so used to always deciding for Mae. Although now he takes the time to let her have choice. He always meant well in theory, but he can see now why that was cruel.

“Mm, think so.” He murmurs. Mae seems defeated though. There’s a nagging feeling that keeps reminding him.

“Maybe I can go with you next time? Help with…whatever you’re after?”

Imri hopes he’s proved she can trust him, but he’s not so sure he has.

He rests his chin on top her head, frowning slightly. He doesn’t believe it’s that simple, not exactly, but he doesn’t push.

“Oh ok.” The warmth of her in his arms helps him relax. He takes her word even though he isn’t sure he believes it.
