Is he good for the people of Maine he’d represent? I’d hope so. Susan Collins said (when she first ran) she’d only do two terms. Video of that. Then she got a taste of the power and privilege and here we are.
That’s representative government to a T. That’s how it should be. Have people in Congress who are OF their communities. Platner has ‘skeletons’ that could trip up his campaign but hell, who wouldn’t? If I chose to run I’m sure oppo would find plenty to call me out on.
Does Harbor Master count? Absolutely it does. This morning on NPR a story out of central CA spoke with farmers who are big GOP and are against the Prop 50 vote and they said “our congressman was a dairy farmer. We don’t have to explain our concerns bcs he is one of us.” That’s huge.
In some ways that's credentials enough. EXCEPT this Surgeon General candidate. Holy hell that's a bad pick.
I’m a Marine. Planter is a Marine-hybrid. Question is, is this the best Maine has to put up against Collins? He started out fast, sure. Intriguing yes. But his baggage.. We all thought Fetterman was an upgrade..
Because the mindset at the top of the Border Patrol considers “every state a border state” now. Thats a quote from Raul Ortiz, former head.
Or are you intentionally dismissive and vague?
He’ll do it. It’s the Originalist position. The 22nd amendment limiting terms was drafted in 1947 after FDR, when the republicans got it passed. So Trump, with Bannon’s tush-push, will say the founders never wrote that he couldn’t run for a third term. That’s his planned angle.
Pete Hegseth’s pocket square.
The U.S. flag code has to have something against making it into a pocket square, wouldn’t you think?
And Ginni Thomas... and Charlie Kirk. There were many who chartered buses to bring hundreds of maniacs to DC.
New ‘Bold Types’ portrait in the Boston Globe Business section. Jon Chesto’s weekly column of Boston-area business leaders.
Most of the cherry pickers have been arrested by ICE and no one knows where they are.
Probably closer to 15 years ago because the Deepwater Horizon was still spewing oil in 2010..
About 10 years ago I illustrated an Al Kamen column for the Washington Post where he checked off the things Trump said he would do if he was elected. Cap the oil leak, find bin Laden. One question was how might he change the footprint of the White House, so I drew a tower behind it. And here we are.
One of those tear gas canisters will be returned through an open window and it'll be Keystone Cops. Miller appears to be giving them the green light to dish it out; It's just a matter of time to see how much they can take.
I'd gather there are more than a few leaf-blower owners in these leafy areas of suburban Chicago. If I'm there, I'm grabbing the blower and sending the smoke back at them.
That's not Pam Bondi from the 90s.
