Thank you so much CUPE delegates for your support! I draw strength and inspiration from our amazing members who work so hard, day in and day out. Working with you and for you is truly one of the great honours of my life. You are the reason I show up every day and keep fighting.

It was my pleasure to address delegates at the CUPE Airlines Division Convention. So proud to have these amazing workers as part of our union. They're the folks in the airline industry the flying public trusts. They are the ones that are keeping the skies safer and better for everyone. Solidarity!

There will always be voices who try to make you feel not good enough, like you don’t belong - never doubt for a second that you do belong and your voice does matter. Thank you, CUPE 💖

Starting off as a 16 year old part time worker, rising through the ranks to the top of Canada’s largest union … if you told me it was possible, I never would have believed you. But if I can do it, so can you!

Spending my entire adult and working life serving CUPE members has been the second greatest honour of my life (next only to raising my son). I feel incredibly proud looking back on my journey of 30 years.

I understood very early the strength we had by working together. Those early days and our struggles to win better working conditions for ourselves and better care conditions for our residents shaped the leader I am today. I have never forgotten where I came from!

I first served as a Health & Safety Officer when I was 18 after being forced to work with dangerously harsh chemicals without any PPE. I joined the bargaining committee at 19, became the shop steward at 20 and won the trust of the members, becoming their local president at 22.

30 years ago today I signed my CUPE union card. I was 16 years old, feisty by nature and very nervous. I never could have predicted that would be the start of my life’s work.

We stood together united, determined, and stronger than ever to demand an end to the exploitation and the sexist discrimination of flight attendants all across this country.

An amazing turnout on a beautiful sunny day on Parliament Hill in Ottawa to support Air Canada Component of CUPE flight attendants and the fight to end unpaid work!

At the bargaining table, in the streets and in the courts, we will not back down until our members and workers across this country get the wages and working conditions they deserve.

Strikes are on the rise in this country because workers have had enough. Enough of broken promises, enough of poverty wages, enough of cuts to the services we depend on. Together CUPE and the rest of the labour movement will keep fighting to reverse the trend of falling job quality and job security.

With the Canadian economy thrown into chaos by US tariffs and other uncertainty, now is NOT the time to be piling on a 15% across-the-board budget cut that will erode our vital public services and devastate our communities. We need a budget that puts people first. Read more: cupe.ca/federal-budg...

Our flight attendant members' only goal is to be paid for their time at work. The federal government's decision to take away their right to have a say in their future is simply not something that we can support. #UnfairCanada #UnpaidWorkWontFly

Not until we get a collective agreement that works for flight attendants. Not one minute sooner!

CUPE has a message for Mark Carney, Patty Hajdu and the Liberal government: You have seriously understimated our strength, our determination. You have picked a fight with the wrong union, the wrong workers, and you have definitely picked a fight with the wrong women. #unfairCanada #UnpaidWorkWontFly

Being a member of Canada's largest union means you have the solidarity and support of over 750,000 fellow members from coast to coast. I was proud to offer the local $10,000 support to their strike from the national union.

Solidarity my friends! One day longer, one day stronger!

Thrilled to be with CUPE 830 — Charlottetown's Municipal Water and Sewer Workers — in person at their picket line today! For the first time in 60 years, and after two and a half years without a contract, the local has had no choice but to strike for fair wages and to protect job security.
