I'd love to hear some successful hacks for actually getting connected to a human representative at NY's Dept of Labor

Is there just an acceptance of celebrity biopics and docs functioning solely as a way to honor their subjects?

Obviously, there are some exceptions here, but this is disproportionately the case in recent years.

If I Had Legs, I'd Kick You gets a little too big. I appreciate a lot about it, though, including Rose Byrne.

Tonatiuh holds together Kiss of the Spider Woman quite beautifully. Jennifer Lopez is radiant in it, though.

Roofman, like others this season, is an extremely middle-of-the-road movie. Not great. No bad. Not particularly memorable in any way.

... There's no racial nuance when it comes to Ayo Edebiri's character and there absolutely should be. Also: The ending is awful.

I appreciate how confrontational After the Hunt is; about our projected sensitivities, the binary victim/perpetrator complex etc. I also like that it doesn't indict any of the characters. Julia Roberts' character is so fascinating, but the textures of the character are not written well...

The way I and the person next to me in the theater just looked at the screen with our mouths agape at the abrupt ending of A House of Dynamite... did not love that. Fine movie otherwise, though.

I had fun with Tron Ares. It connects the franchise well and raises some of the same questions about our relationship with virtual lives. The soundtrack and effects are superb. Is it a great movie? No. We've seen this story before and done better. Also: Jeff Bridges is totally The Dude in this movie
