My problem is that the encounters are essentially doom monster closets with some appendices and miscommunication. Like the game is giving you doom monster closets but also is like "I swear bro we have stealth and tactical gameplay, it's not a twitch shooter bro I promise"

Now I'm playing Wolfenstein New Order and I had an enemy shoot me in the back because it spawned behind me in essentially a closed room I was in. I don't know if I'm supposed to play normal slop shooters with my brain just completely off just reacting to what I see like it's a shooting range or what

Like back then I got really frustrated with the way the Alien would rubber-band to you in Alien: Isolation, which made it impossible to actually play the stealth game as a stealth game and correctly read the game's feedback

Maybe I'm spoiled by imsims, but I'm completely over more linear games just completely insulting my spatial awareness by fudging things here and there to curate an encounter. Like moving enemies around or spawning them in completely unpredictable places
