Worst "A Team" stunt ever!
“The only Tesla Cybertruck in all of Uganda seems to have rolled after tackling what appears to be a very mild dirt hill.”

Ok. Here's a few open questions to make your company drinks evening more fun.

- what animal are you?
- what's the drawback of growing up where you did?
- what meal could you eat every day 4 times a week?

Writing intermission at the University Library, with the staff showing just what a talented lot they really are. This is just a taste; they had an amazing repertoire. #choir #cambridge

Today it came to a head. My partner and I argued about the plot of Superman IV. Gene Hackman was mentioned, and rash predictions were made.

Please everyone, this is a season of peace. Let's leave it alone now.

TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

Just finished The Mark by Frida Isberg (very good) so this should make an upbeat change!

Someone please tell me this stopped a long time ago!
Just today, I was reminded of the old box grading system used for pay reviews of civil servants, government workers, and NHS staff, among others. Mostly, my friend's white hot anger at being told his performance grade was capped at his boss's performance. Not a hint of shame about the pyramid.

It's not Faraway, it's just very small.

It's also not Magic, it's just very complicated.

Every time I stop at Elsenham, I think perhaps I've accidentally slipped onto the train line of fictional places.

I want to do a complete journey of that branch one day.
