On today’s episode we cover the truly iconic and hilarious Arthur Christmas. The movie is so good and the @letterboxd.social reviews are even better.

I’m generally consistently annoyed at the Google AI but it did flatter me when describing @12dayspod.bsky.social.
It’s that time of year again when my feed becomes 80% Christmas movie discourse.

My podcast @12dayspod.bsky.social is back for season 6 with a three-episode premiere: A Very Merry Muppets Christmas, Remember the Night, and Noelle.

Season 6 is here. The movies are festive. The commentary is questionable.

Has someone said that Joe Rogan actually did end up being our national Fear Factor? Surely someone has made that observation before? Bueller?

ICYMI at @americasvoice.bsky.social: Your wallet has been taking a hit this year. You can blame the mass deportation policies of Trump and Stephen Miller, which have ensnared and scared off the skilled workers who feed us and are the backbone of the agricultural industry:
Your Wallet Is Taking A Hit This Year. Blame Mass Deportation
The rapid growth in daily expenses for working Americans has been fueled in part by the administration’s cruel and chaotic mass detention and deportation agenda.

Bad Bunny doing the halftime at the Super Bowl is going to be a pure celebration of Latinidad. Not a word of English. Puerto Rico on the biggest stage. Banderas everywhere. I’m thrilled.

With the exception of one person, no one in our unit makes more than $75K. Most of us live in NYC, and, famously, it’s expensive. To be considered moderate income in the city, each of our members would need to make at least $90,720, according to the city government.

Management keeps saying they can’t afford to adopt our economic proposals. But they’re hiring contractors left and right to handle podcast and video production, they won’t share the full breakdown of the organization’s budget, and now they’re teasing layoffs — after hiring new managers.

We’ve proposed multiple remedies, including back pay for those who effectively worked two jobs at RNG, annual raises beyond the paltry COLA, and covering more of our health-care premiums.

A fourth member has not received a merit raise since being hired in 2022 — all while managing an increasing workload, including fundraising campaigns, creating graphics, and launching a new newsletter.

For nearly a year, one unit member created every single website graphic and produced our flagship podcast. Another managed every single one of our social platforms. And third edited every single story and ran the website. All with no support and no additional pay.

When we set out to negotiate a stronger contract, we wanted to prioritize pay equity, dignity, and fairness — heavy on pay equity. Until recently, most of our six-person unit worked without a manager for more than 6 months, taking on our old supervisors’ responsibilities without appropriate pay.

The regulations this “AI chainsaw” cuts could get more workers hurt on the job, more people sick, and let greedy companies pollute more. DOGE is using AI to make these decisions—and it could cost people their lives.

Huge news: The bipartisan bill to restore federal workers’ union rights has majority support in Congress!

Call your representative NOW and tell them to sign the discharge petition to give the Protect America’s Workforce Act a vote.
