Good chat about balancing full-back development and what it means for Jacob Beetham, the exciting young talent we have at the club, the most high pressure kicking situation Leigh Halfpenny has ever faced and who the hell starts on the wings for Cardiff ⬇️⬇️

It's just a brilliant strike from Callum Sheedy, knows it's over from the moment it leaves his boot.

Huge stones to knock it over so calmly.

An absolutely scorching finish from Tom Bowen!

Also cool that it's the oldest player on the team in Leigh Halfpenny (36) giving the pass for the youngest player on the team (19) to score.

Here it is!

Inject it into my veins, hang it in the Louvre etc...

A huge 8-man shove with Sam Wainwright in particular getting the best of one of the best looseheads in the world in Angus Bell.
December 14, 2025 at 6:01 PM
And a big bench impact we got!

Danny Southworth, Evan Lloyd, Josh McNally and Cam Winnett in particular just brilliant across that final quarter.

Proper 23-man win that was last night.
Cardiff 12-14 Ulster HT

Strong start but a few errors let the away side back into it.

Struggling a bit in the air, and not holding any possession as a result.

Big bench impact required.

Cardiff 29-26 Ulster FT

Pure guts and determination, with help from a bouncing Arms Park.

Lots to work on performance-wise but this group don’t seem to know when they’re beaten!

Onwards to the Turks…

There was a late change to the bench as Lucas De La Rua replaced Alex Mann. #CARvULS

A credit to Ben Thomas and the development pathway that he is reaching his full potential.

St Peter’s ➡️ Corpus ➡️ CAVC ➡️ Cardiff Uni ➡️ Rags ➡️ Cardiff ➡️ Wales

Always great to see a Cardiff boy joining the 100 Club, and such a quality player at that 🔵⚫️

Rory Thornton doesn’t garner headlines, but now in his 8th year he’s become a true Cardiff clubman.

A lot of appearances off the bench but never less than 100%, quality line out operator and now passing that on as Rags Coach.

The sort of player every club needs at its core.

It’s been the road less travelled for Kieron Assiratti.

A meteoric rise, some tough years where there was a brief switch to hooker, but now firmly established as Cardiff, and arguably Wales, first choice tighthead.

Dedication and character, now the 100 Club, great to see 👏🏻

9 changes to the XV, 10 changes to the 23 for Ulster after they beat Racing comfortably last week.

18th January 2014 was when we last saw Leigh Halfpenny in a Cardiff jersey.

He’s the only player of the team that faced Exeter in the Heineken Cup that day still playing at the top level.

Cardiff, Toulon, Llanelli, Christchurch, London and Cardiff again.

He’s back!

Here's the Cardiff side to face Ulster;

- 100 up for Azza, Seven Storey Rory and Benny T
- Hughes, Nott & Thomas into the pack
- Davies, Sheedy & Hurricane Harri return
- Adams & Bowen back on the wings
- Southworth, Mann, Beetham & Winnett on the bench

Strong side!

Carmarthen 26-31 Cardiff FT

Some much better attacking rugby in that second half but still tried desperately to throw it away!

Hopefully a huge boost to cling on for a key win down west.

Carmarthen 7-7 Cardiff HT

Tough old 40 that on the meadow. The Rags have had plenty of opportunity but errors and a shoddy lineout cost us, before another error lets the hosts level things up.

Looking low on confidence after recent results.

Glantaf 28-26 Cymoedd FT

A terrific College League Final at the Stadium, llongyfarchiadau Glantaf and tough luck again Cymoedd.

Both had a cracking season and some serious talent on the way up the pathway 👏🏻🔵⚫️
