As we head towards the end of a busy half term, we would like to thank all our teachers, school leaders, governors and support staff - not to mention the wonderful children in our schools - for all their achievements and commitment. You inspire us every day.

Lots of discussion of this within RE groups and church school groups
☸️ 'We need a secretary of state with the nerve to place foundational knowledge about religions and worldviews within a common framework'
RE must finally takes its place in the national curriculum
Lack of a national framework for the subject is wasteful of years of classroom time and deeply unfair

Then Charlotte was on to the opening of the long fought for classroom at St Patrick’s Endmoor. More amazing pupils, staff, headteacher and community 💕

It’s been quite the day for Charlotte, reminding her of the best bits of being a school leader (first hand) and some of the trickiest bits (in conversation). Some (best bits only) are captured here … The AMAZING @stoswalds choir and some special places xxx

The Mighty Oaks stayed after school and led a Holocaust Memorial Day Service, they chose poems, reflections and even used 10 stages to show how we might feel helpless against oppression but that we can remove its foundations and be the light that can continue to grow @carlisledbe.bsky.social

This report was referred to at the conference on Wednesday by Ed Vainker of Reach. Reach really gave themselves the right name to reflect how they work with their communities.

There are around 50 chaplains to RNLI crews, on hand to support them, or even join them, especially at Christmas. Here, they reflect on teamwork, courage, the power of the sea, and how their calling nurtures a deep sense of loyalty and community

Today my employers were paying me to drive to Borrowdale. How lucky am I?! What a gorgeous journey and what a fabulous school. My only question is how do pupils get any work done with these views from their classroom windows? 🤔

It’s a grim job trying to make the shocking lack of underfunding for our school buildings (£800k with £1.8m worth of projects needing doing). However the blow was softened today … when you’re colleague serves THE BEST mince pies ever AND then their spouse goes out to buy bacon butties for the team 💕
