Since I’ve gained a number of new followers, I should introduce myself again. I write Regency Romance, with 🫑 spice. I love research rabbit holes, usually for history or films/television. Casablanca is my comfort film, and I always have some knitting project on my needles. And I read. A lot.
I critiqued a manuscript where a young lady in the 1800s got from the Port of San Pedro to the San Gabriel Mission in a couple of hours.

I pointed out that, if there was traffic, I couldn’t get from San Pedro to San Gabriel in two hours with a car and freeways.

They moved him over to NBC News.
I've gotten several for the book I just released, but I've held on to one of them because, yes, it really does sound like they read my book, and what they said is good enough, I might want to use it as a quote. (This is for a non-fiction book.)

The links go to a book marketer, so I'm torn.
There was a moment at a Doctor Who convention when I looked at one of the guests and said, "You were on Midsomer Murders, but I can't remember if you were a victim or a killer."

Turns out he was a red herring twice, but also a victim once.
L&O fans often refer to such actors as "repeat offenders."
Babylon 5 had Wayne Alexander play seven different roles, only one of which was human.

“Speaker Johnson, many Americans are wondering why you’re unable to see or hear any developments in the news. Some are speculating that you were kicked in the head by a horse; others theorize that you’ve been huffing spray paint. Which is it?”
So Johnson is not really a Republican, but a member of the Know Nothing party.
RAJU: Last week you were very critical of Biden's use of the autopen. But Trump admitted on 60 Minutes to not knowing he pardoned a crypto billionaire who pleaded guilty to money laundering. Does that also concern you?

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know anything about that. I didn't see it. I'm not sure.
Aside from the fact the accounts were of no use to me, it was cutting another connection to people I never want to see or speak to again. That is a good thing.
Just closed both of my Linkedin accounts. The spur was notice of an extended in-law’s birthday whom I’ve blocked everywhere else. I’d “connected” with him when I’d created the account because to do otherwise would have caused grief with the late f-i-l I didn’t need.
I’m Episcopalian, but my priest was a Cradle Catholic, and it is interesting to watch him grind his teeth sometimes when Vance comes up.
That’s a great idea. Now if my author copies would show up…

(I may resort to a little photoshopping over an existing book. fI I can get Gimli to cooperate.0
And because I did promo, and it is #nationalcatday, here is my cat tax. Our wonderful Gimli, son of Miss Timmy. The only orange tabby in his litter, he's a bit of a chonk at 16 pounds, most of which is muscle.

Anything thing that hadn't been opened went to our local food pantry. They had a use for *everything* we gave them, many of them being products that folks needed but weren't often donated.
When my f-i-l passed away, we gathered up all the supplies we'd been given as part of his home hospice (paid for by Medicare). We had barrier cream, adult diapers, baby wipes, latex gloves, and an entire case of Ensure, shampoo, soap, etc.
Oh, I need to make some chili.
I looked at most of her items and don’t have them because I don’t need them. If I don’t do things with crepes or rarely with tortillas, why clutter the kitchen?

But her job was to write an article convincing folks to buy pretty things, rather than if they need it.
🤣🤣🤣🤣

My grandma on the phone to Mom, screaming about her letting me watch “such filth” when Plato’s Stepchildren first aired.
I reached a point where my question for the Downton Abbey Christmas specials was, “What fresh hell are the Bates in for now?”
