Our Executive Director @drkariljordan.carpentries.org spent this week attending the Allstate Foundation's Executive Leadership Program, being one among the accepted cohort of 30! 🌟

This opportunity will be extremely impactful for Kari personally, and also for The Carpentries and our community.

I'd also encourage you to look at The Carpentries and give them some money. They did the same thing. And they do good work!

I remember that @carpentries.carpentries.org withdrew a $1.5M proposal that had been recommended for funding in June, for the same reason. carpentries.org/blog/2025/06... They link out in their post to Grant General Conditions language but I do not know if that is current.

Between @python.org and @carpentries.carpentries.org, the open-source ecosystem is rejecting the administration's inquisition against DEI. If you can support them with a donation please do. I just did!
