I found out about this gorgeous new French animated feature today.

Western 2D animation never fully died; amongst other places, it lives on in France where places like Gobelins l'école de l'image have pushed the art form to spectacular heights.

Just a gut feeling though, might be wrong, really need numbers …

Ie, costs for VFX services wouldn’t make up a big portion of that exchange and high tariffs unlikely ?

Wondering what those trade deficit numbers would look like if digital goods and services sold to non-us countries were taken into account? Surely the money made with social media, saas etc would significantly level perceived trade imbalance, especially in a digital goods for digital goods scenario?

Just finished ‘Adolescence’ and while it’s very good, I do now really need something more uplifting. This sounds like it could hit the spot.

Per splat SH rotation is super cool - even during deformation?

PS: is the text in the title bar the node type or a node name?

I find widgets in nodes just lead to lot's of visual clutter once a graph gets bigger .. I find a nodegraph for flow / structure + a dedicated node property editor + some sort of inspector spreadsheet to show how the incoming data gets modified a convenient combination.

This looks very handy - got to give it a try! cheers

Had a couple of hours on the weekend to play more with #houdini #penplotter tooling. Added visualization of plot progression and pen-up movement.

Looks like my map data is way too detailed for my plotter size and pen... I knew I should have bought an A0 plotter.

I naively assumed tip width might match line width, but that does not seem to be the case. I found this page helpful: piterpasma.nl/articles/lin...

Also www.actonstat.com/ballpoint-an... seems to have tip and line width (and even distance) for many pens in the product description.

Building #penplotter tooling in #houdini to get a sense if my plot will likely 'work'. Starting with simple placement of vector art on a canvas and applying pen characteristics.

When you hear a song on the radio in your car and you like it a lot but you can't write down the title because you are driving and by the time you've stopped you've forgotten? - Your list made me rediscover a bunch of those - made my day, cheers!

My first #penplotter experiments were fun, but I feel like I want more control over the process. Example: Not too happy about those lines getting all smoodged together - guess I need a finer pen or a bigger canvas or paper with less bleed...

... or build myself a prototype environment for testing.

yes, I probably tend to overthink things 😉

Got myself a new hobby: #penplotter
Just wondering: Are there any empirical values on how much plotting distance (at a decent speed) one might get out of a given brand pen?
