In art lesson today we looked at abstract winter landscapes. The technique I liked was dropping water onto the trees. I may have overdone that bit 😂

Trying to loosen up and not use all the paper. Saw a painting by Ian Ramsay where he used a vignette style so I had a go. Reminded me of North Lodge on the edge of the heathland in soft autumn light. Looks like my lodge has serious subsidence 😂

I love the happiness in this painting 😊
Every time I'm at the sea I'm thinking of how great it would be to actually live there. Being able to casually enjoy natures beauty while living a rich life. When painting this #gouache landscape I tried to capture that mood.

When travelling I often end up gazing at beautiful #churches. Wandering around them makes you think about centuries of history those impressive buildings have encountered. So I wanted this painting to be whimsical with intense colors and lighting.

Another great demo from @chrisstephenart.bsky.social I’d been struggling to paint a picture of autumn tree on the heathland local to me and he only went and did a fab demo on patreon. Key message simplify and support the focal point. I need to get better at tonal values. Next aim 😊
