Had a great time at the @royalarmouries.bsky.social celebrating the @classicsforall.bsky.social 2025 Impact Awards. Hearing stories of inspirational teachers all over the UK is so heartwarming!

Huge congratulations to Emma Noble from St Ambrose High, for winning the Scottish regional network award!
Time's running out to sign up for our 2025 AV prog. We've received many enquiries, & encourage folks who want to try their hand at ancient languages, in a supportive & friendly environment, to register with us ASAP.

Registration will close soon, and we'll be seeing up our online classes next week.
ANCIENT VOICES 2025 REGISTRATION OPEN!

We are thrilled to announce the opening of our AV2025 Summer programme. This is being timed to run slightly earlier, so as not to clash directly with the Classical Association
Conference in St Andrews.

Our friends at @openuniversity.bsky.social have announced a number of funded MA studentships in Classical Studies.

These may be of interest to any teachers looking to accredit in Classical Studies with the GTCS, so we hope you'll follow the link and have a look!

Ancient Voices proudly remains one of the most affordable ways to dip a toe with something new, or to consolidate on prior learning in ancient languages. We will continue to offer these classes for as long as there is interest, and so we encourage people to sign up!
More info is available on the website, but it is worth noting our sliding price plan for these units. Our classes are designed to avoid timetable clashes and allow folks to take multiple streams. Classes are therefore priced:

1 x Stream: £70
2 x Streams: £130
3 x Streams: £180
Our cultural/blended units will focus one on the cultures of central Anatolia, and another on 'Dionysiac Revelry' in antiquity and beyond.

This is our most diverse programme yet, and so we hope plenty of you will join us online to have fun and learn something new!
Our list of languages this year thus includes the following:

Latin (all levels)
Ancient Greek (all levels)
Aramaic
Hurrian
Hebrew
Sumerian Cuneiform
Ugaritic
and another language course offering tasters in Ethiopic and Phoenician language.
This year marks another development in the programme. We constantly try to bring tuition in languages that are not widely taught. We are also expanding the study of ancient cultures, and we're (again) running a course for school leavers, dedicated to demystifying university life.
Since its inception, we have tried hard to make the AV programme truly accessible to communities around the globe who might otherwise lack access to Classics. We have also tried to retain as low a price point as possible, since we believe that money should prevent access.

The scheme is supported by CAS, with further scope for assistance from @classicsforall.bsky.social. It is designed to function with no overhead considerations for the pupil or their home school.

We hope that you will share this among your friends and colleagues who might have interested pupils!
The scheme is designed to allow access to courses that would be impossible in the pupils' home school, with colleagues at Edinburgh Uni providing access to a shared Teams platform.

Classes and materials from TGA will be uploaded, with live weekly sessions on top.
We are proud to introduce a new initiative designed to spur uptake of Latin and/or Classical Studies in Scottish state schools.

SATCS is an unprecendented collaboration between state and independent sectors, offering virtual access to N5, Higher and Adv Higher courses run at The Glasgow Academy.
The CAS has arrived on Bluesky! Followers may know that we are a small subject association, and that it is our current secretary that posts alongside trying to maintain his own social media...

We are very happy to be here, in the Good Place, to continue our mission to expand access across Scotland!
