#Yeule - Glitch Princess to me its strange #ambient #electronicmusic with vocals as an instrument. like #iainmbanks 'consider phlebas', a young AI entity goes a bit nuts, this album is the horrors & excitements of being in your 20s. the production, the unexpected audio twists & turns: its genius.

I spent last summer reading these 7 books all in a(n expensive) row. they were joyous. it's been so long since I had such a fun read. and I was therefore expecting the worst from #murderbot but I've watched 2 episodes and it's really good. it's story over expensive visuals the opposite of star wars.

#tomin A Willed and Conscious Balance
Another recommend from #undergroundsolutions . Its taken decades to even begin to like Jazz and it only really began with Kamazi Washington's Truth. This is perhaps in the same ballpark? Its certainly nice and interesting and great to allow it to wash over you.

#IchikoAoba - Luminescent Creatures
This is maybe not representative as it is more #electronicmusic than much of the album is. Beautiful, different melodies and structures, some with keyboards, some with classical guitar. The vocals are very quiet and sit back in the music. Its just great.

That's very sad. Between 84 and 88 the only current band I had time for were #shriekback . Saw them at the Astoria sometime in 86 or 87 and stood in front of him and screamed Bass at him all night rather embarrassingly (I am a bass player if that helps). Wrote so many great bass lines.

#patssoundhouse was incredible last night supporting #ichikoaoba (who was unbelievably good, more to follow). what a sound the khaen makes! like an ambient accordian mellotron brass band rolled into one strange bundle of pipes. amazing. Sounds cruel but top marks for a short set! left wanting more.

#yetsuby 4EVA. Cant believe there's another Yetsuby album already, after the wonderful b_b. And its not been off the record player since it arrived early last week. It's lighter faster glitchier more melodic, i don't know, i dont want to say it's better than b_b because thats mean to b_b

This is my vintage (1964/65?) FAL Treble Booster pedal.
It is 60 years old and seems to be un-modded and works beautifully - lovely sound.
I am not a guitarist so, apologies for that.
This pedal has a Mullard OC44 Made in Holland germanium transistor.

#LucaYupanqui - Conversations. an LP remixed in 2021. I asked #UndergroundSolution 4 help & came away with 3 great albums. None of which i had heard of. I notice it says 'made with biosonic MIDI technology'. i wonder what that was. i only recognise #Laraaji. Really nice interesting album. Biosonic

Geoffrey Drage, who made the recordings, Super 8 videos, stereoscopic photographs and slides used for the Mirry album passed away last Saturday 8th March at the age of 96. I would like to thank all involved for making it happen & everyone who wrote about, played, bought & listened to the Mirry album

#floatingworldpictures - The Twenty-three Views. That first tune! The Village Headman Pleading With The Old Ferryman, cant exactly call it a banger but its awesome. Obviously it has Alabaster DePlume instantly recogniseable Saxophone on it but its just wonderful. No idea which side is A or B.

This is the first album i have just seen in a shop and bought. Mainly because it had a post-it note written by the record shop saying:
'Scottish ambient and drone that feels beamed in from another dimension or century. There are ZERO beats.' Sounded great to me.

#SpaceAfrica - Honest Labour
Its quite a dark album. It says on that little label on the sleeve: 'fusion of ambient unrest and cosmic downtempo' which is pretty accurate actually. should just leave it there. But i can't No, none, attempt to label A and B sides, just no idea whats going on.

#Anaroxanna - Because of a Flower
Ive only just realised this album is called Because of a Flower. Not the easiest font to read but the label clearly says A and B, so thats a win. Its a different album, hard to categorise. Ambient? maybe, instrumental? not exactly, there is quite a bit of voice.

#nalasinephro: Endless. I love it when strings go deep. This is a beautiful album, sort of jazz electronica, a close relation might be #floatingpoints Promises. This was my xmas present. Lovely double album that broke my record player. But actually 4th side is a spirograph. So no filler!

#vinceguaraldi Trio - A Charlie Brown Christmas. It used to be the standards for me: a wombling merry xmas, merry xmas everybody, last xmas etc But for the last few years its been this album. Its just the right amount of relaxed, happy and just a hint of a little bit sad. Perfect, love it.

Its almost too sad to listen to. Just reading the song titles now, for the first time (its ridiculous how little attention i pay) its all very clearly about being a parent. 'A New Living Being Opens Its Eyes For the First Time' is unbearable. Sadly video is blocked

Craven Faults: Erratics and Unconformities. And sometimes you just want an album that goes plink plink fizz a lot. And this double album by #cravenfaults does it perfectly. I like to imagine that every so often they manage to buy a new bit of modular synthiness & that becomes the new album.

Pino Palladino & Blake Mills: Notes with Attachments.
When does #ambient #electronica become jazz? There's a fretless bass ffks! But its a lovely, interesting & different sound, often very beautiful & i like that, whatever the style might be. Tell you what, next week i'll do a #CravenFaults album
