I love talking with my 90yo mentor (from middle school to college she classically taught me to draw and paint outside of school and work). She renews my faith in what I do, and her tenacity to keep on creating- even in her 90’s -is an inspiration. Artists never retire, we just die.

biggest annoyance with all this social media stuff is that I don't want to be a content creator who makes art. I am an artist. I love writing essays but "content"? It's a slog. an annoying slog. you're telling me I gotta have a personality AND make art? I can barely take care of myself puhleeeeasee.

Legit had someone on reddit tell me that they don’t spend money reading any art comics on big apps. They read them in their entirety, illegally, through online scans, and then ‘buy merch’ or ‘tip them with a coffee’. Artists, your life’s work. It’s worth a coffee and a t-shirt.
