And then, surprisingly quickly, Vash is lurching closer and abruptly slumping against Nicholas's side. Nicholas almost jumps away from him, not expecting the proximity and more than aware of the disgusting state of his body. "Hey! Spikey, I'm-" "Warm," Vash interrupts, quiet but firm. Nicholas's response dies on his tongue as Vash's hand grabs the front of his shirt, Vash's head and shoulder digging into his ribs. They're still healing, and it hurts, but Vash continues, "Breathing. Alive." And Nicholas settles and lets Vash do what he wants.
