Yea that’s exactly the case here! It’s pretty cool how those old publications had a variety of interviews and short stories in them and some got really experimental, not what you’d expect from a soft core magazine nowadays

I remember it having a women’s nudist colony a guy stumbles upon?? But somehow it’s like a cult that worships some kind of eldritch dick or something????? The only 18+ thing I can remember about it was the naked women. The art was pretty traditional paints tho.

On the last day for my comic writing class, my prof had an AMA with us and one of my classmates asked if he’s ever done any kind of 18+ work. My prof said he wrote a short comic for playboy and later I actually found it and lemme tell ya’

It was surreal and as sexy as Stephen King’s writing…

point n click games have a reputation for moon logic with puzzle solutions being super obtuse but I promise my game won’t have puzzles like that

Don’t work for a publisher. Being indie is harder to grow at first but a publisher will pay you pennies, grind you into dust and then drop you anyways if your comic doesn’t do enough numbers.

At least with indie you still own 100% of ip rights.

I’ve been focused on getting more art assets further along before I can show new peeks at how the game’s looking (it’s a lot of backgrounds) 🙂‍↕️

Some locations will have parts where the camera switches to a better angle. It’s necessary bc the sprite models are what changes expressions during dialogue so they need to be closer.

What’s neat is I can do the classic fixed camera angles in old horror games just bc I have no other choice

Artists who can match model sheets in varying art styles (animators I’m looking at you) are so powerful.

I’m such a creature of habit that my style permeates everything I draw, it would take so much practice to break it. Switching between art styles seamlessly is like witchcraft to me.

I enjoy media without engaging in the wider fandom. Unless a pal happens to like it too, but I don’t know what most fans are saying.

Imagine my shock after watching StarVs, enjoyed the ending n everything, and finding out years later ppl *HATED IT*

So I’m glad I had no idea about the drama.
