There are some fonts that are good for reading and appear often in print and online, but what about writing? Maybe some fonts better for writing, different from those that are good for reading. #writingcommunity

It is important to write some weirdo shit everyday, like any psycho blurb would work. #writingcommunity

When scientists look for humanoid, I mean hominid, fossils in Africa, they crawl on all fours as a group across the hot, hot ground, eyes scanning the surface for any sign of something weird sticking out here or there, while guards stand by with AK-47s to ward off warring factions nearby. #booksky

Don't worry about eating a fruit sticker. They are FDA-approved as nontoxic for human consumption, accidental or nonaccidental, in small amounts. Don't follow a fruit sticker diet though.

Cold, cloudy days are great for writing, and so is any kind of apocalypse, germ or zombie or whatever, occurring outdoors, so the writer can stay inside the house with their words and toilet paper. #writing

Caving is an extremely exciting activity. Doing it, there are many ways to die. Cave diving is even more scary. Read all about caving and cave diving here, and also about how to go to the bathroom in caves. #booksky

I love warm rain! The tropics are great every once in a while, but not the whole summer.

A warm rainstorm is nice, but so rare in coastal California. The machine might make one this week.

I like to eat ice cream sandwiches with chocolate ice cream between slices of whole wheat bread, to be more healthy.

Bring back the megafauna! I want the entire La Brea Tar Pits brought to life and roaming the streets of LA! #booksky

In 2020, 2022, and 2024, the first week of September all included day after day of 100-110+ degrees in Southern California. But not in 2021, 2023, or 2025. Clearly the weather machine at work!

I love the symmetry of strawberry seeds on the surface of the fruit. The rows wrap beautifully around the berry in two different directions.

After a June, July, and August of no mosquitoes or their bites, trillions hatched in September, and now there are tens of bites.

The book is very special. The author goes to unprecedented extremes to avoid scientific jargon. Thus, ion channels are called "holes", and synaptic vesicles are "bags". At first, I wasn't sure about this new vocabulary, but I think I have now been brainwashed. #booksky

I got abducted by aliens, and they messed with my mind to make me love writing after hating writing all my life. Maybe I will love folding laundry too, following another encounter. #writing

If I were to time travel to a historical period, my second choice would be 1177 BC, the year civilization collapsed, brought down by the factors revealed below. My first would obviously be more than 1000 years earlier, when the aliens built the pyramids in Egypt. #booksky

I know what's going on here. It is a pride of palms, the mighty palm lion, king of the landscaping, surrounded by his palmesses. #photography
