I saw that I had picked up a German version of Toni Morrison's Beloved from the village library, so I'm going to DNF Gone with the Wind and read Beloved instead

I started reading Gone with the Wind but tbh my heart has not been really in it. So much of it reads like rich white ppl romanticising the Southern US and the whole plantation life, when all of that is wrong, built on stolen land by slaves stolen from their homelands. Does it get better?

German schools teaching English: In sentences the correct order is place before time. You have to remember this.

My linguistics book: actually, no. Native speakers do not give a shit about this.

I'm looking up to the night sky right now, seeing a golden crescent moon. A chilly winter wind timidly caresses my cheek. God, how beautiful the world is and what a gift it is to be alive

The English language leaves me with the impression that it's actually many languages stacked on top of each other, wearing a trench coat and all of them are fighting who should sit at the top

Question for my moots, which news site do you deem most reliable/trustworthy? I'm trying to expand my sources from where I get my information. French sites are welcome as well

Throwing Ukraine at Moscow's feet will do nothing to appease the warmonger in office. A German newspaper remarked that Chamberlain attempted a similar appeasement plan by giving half of Czechoslovakia to Hitler, trying to prevent a larger conflict. WW2 still began a year later. I agree with them.

My trans friends deserve to grow old. So fucking old they'll have deep laugh and smiling wrinkles and hair so white the snow would look grey next to it. They deserve to love and be who they are without fear of anyone persecuting them. Their lives have meaning and value. The world is better with them
