I was recently published in @littlebluemarble, a Canadian Climate Fiction magazine’s anthology called “World on Fire.” I like the whole anthology. I also love @MarkLeslie’s books and Robert J Sawyer’s.
I’ve been really impressed with Canadian SFF lately
Tanya and I are creating a book with her beautiful illustrations to my folktale-type stories.
Which title is best?
1. Tales From the Island of California
2. Worlds to Get Lost in
3. The Great Book of New Folktales
4. Worlds of Imagination
5. Something else (write your suggestion in the comments)
Looks like spring 🌷
@charliejane.bsky.social hi! I met you briefly at your panel at Locus. I look at your work as an example for my writing. I’m starting a YA Urban Fantasy with a SolarPunk vibe set in San Francisco, and I was wondering if I could bounce my outline off you for any feedback?
Pooh’s Prayer

Ah hollowed tree,
Who has given your heart
For a home for nature’s
Most blessed art.

Oh hallowed bee,
Creator devine
Of a nectar that’s sweeter
Than any rare wine.

Oh homely me,
Here on my knees
Praying for a blessing
Of generous bees.
I don’t think we’re in Portland anymore, Toto. #lihue
I loved this story!
"A Tale of Two Tarōs" by Marie Brennan

A variation on the 8th Century Japanese legend of Ursashima Tarō. In this retelling, a young Tarō's life takes an unexpected turn with the arrival of a mysterious stranger.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read the Temeraire series, so I don’t remember her name, but my favorite dragon is the main female Chinese dragon in Throne of Jade. I also enjoyed the dragons in Marie Brennan’s books.
I thought this picture of a rainbow on my street today would be appropriate for this place. Here’s a rainbow for you…
-A book of beautifully illustrated original fairytales set in an alternate California.
-A YA vaguely TidalPunk novel about a selkie, a dolphin, a siren, and a wizard.
-Several short stories, tbd
Oh, I am so down for this!
Congratulations! What’s your story called? What are these stories about?
Finally made it to @powells.bsky.social Very hard to tear myself away.
