$ Tourists spent $14.3B in San Diego last year.
The tourism authority spent $1.5M fighting workers instead of paying them fairly.
HU Meanwhile, hotel + event workers still earn poverty wages in one of the most expensive cities in the country.
On Tuesday, Sept. 16, the City Council will vote on the Hospitality Minimum Wage Ordinance to raise tourism workers' pay to $25/hr.
