Not really. It's a personal thing. Just suprised by the fine.
My recollection is that it costs about
$3.75 per hour.
As I said, a $70 dollar penalty seems steep, and how quickly the fines grow is also a concern.
Imagine having to wait for a next payday to be able to pay it?!

For the record it was Vancouver's General Manager of Finance and Supply Chain Management who recommended a 5-7% property tax increase for 2026.
They did so in June 18, 2025 Budget Outlook report to council.
